“Keep giving God that minimal praise and you will keep receiving those minimal blessings.”
“I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart,
And I will glorify Your name forevermore.” Psalm 86:12 NKJV
When was the last time you kneeled before the Lord? When was the last time you presented yourself as a living sacrifice to God? When was the last time you shed grateful tears for the Lord and spoke thankful words to The Lord?
You have to give God a good praise, doesn’t He deserve it? I know my God do and I can only hope you are serving the same God.
You know, the God who is the alpha and the omega (Revelation 1:8 and 22:13). You know, the same God who created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1). I am talking about the same God who sent His only begotten son Jesus, to die for the sins of the people… including you and I (John 3:16)? I claim Him as my God, so if we are serving the same God then He deserves our BEST praise.
Thanking Jesus once a day is the bare minimum. Praying for two minutes once a day is the bare minimum. Only giving Him praise on Sunday mornings is the bare minimum. We all know that doing the bare minimum gets you the bare minimum results. He needs to know that He is appreciated. He is so worthy. Let me tell you, God is an awesome God, He has delivered me from some things, and I know He has, is, and will do the same for you, so thank Him in advance. Show Him your gratitude. God wants to feel your praise.
See, sometimes you have stop everything you are doing, go into a quiet place alone and kneel before the Lord and just start thanking and giving Him praise. It feels so good just worshipping and allowing His presence to just hug you and motivate you to worship Him more. Sometimes you have to MAKE yourself go into prayer and thank The Lord. Life gets busy and hectic and it may slip your mind but you cannot let that be an excuse. When you are in church, sometimes you have to sacrifice your pride, your body, and your thoughts of how others may perceive you, how you may look when praising God. WHO CARES!!! You are praising GOD. Do not fall into the category of putting others before God. If you would rather look cute, manly, or normal to people while praising God when in front of others, then you have just put people before God. Do not be that person and if you were, ask God for forgiveness, repent, ask God for help, and make up in your mind that you will not care what others think.
Sometimes you have to shed tears of gratefulness, and speak words of thankfulness. Often times we forget to thank God when in prayer, we immediately ask for things and pour out our problems and it slips our minds to thank Him. God wants to hear you say thank you and mean it. He wants to hear you have faith in Him and speak back to Him that what you are going through is going to better you and He will fix it. God is not a genie in a bottle, He wants you to return some of the love and not just take.
We as children of God, as the chosen ones, we must work better at giving God our best praise. So give God your best praise, and every time you praise Him again it should be better than the last time because you were able to praise Him again; let that marinate in your mind.
I’m not saying what you’re doing is not enough, I am just saying, it is time to go above and beyond with giving back to God. If you can go crazy when your favorite song comes on the radio, or get up on your feet when at a concert, or even have a good time with your friends, then you can do it with JESUS.
Tell Him how you really feel. Show Him how thankful you are. Kneel before the Lord, and pray with love and intention. Worship the one and only true and living God. Do what you have to do to give Him your best praise, do not worry about others, and just praise God. Hey, you may even inspire someone to give God their best praise. If you keep giving God that minimal praise, you will keep receiving those minimal blessings.
