Our new bundle of joy.
We are so happy to have a little girl joining the family. Ahhh! A little me, so exciting; I am just imagining all the money that will be spent on shopping!! Hopefully, she is a mama’s girl because Liam is such a daddy’s boy, so it would only be right (lol).
I would say finding out the gender explained the severity of my hyperemesis because it is said that when you are pregnant with a girl, you are more likely to have morning sickness worst. However, it was pretty bad with Liam and our angel baby, so I say that study is null and void; I’m sure my HG moms will agree with me.
When did we find out the gender?
We found out the gender around my 14th week, but I was too sick to even think about announcing anything to the public. Only close family and friends knew. I got my gender results with the NIPT blood test with my doctors and then confirmed at my 20th-week scan. (Thank God the blood test was right lol). We were a little nervous because my husband’s dad’s side is known to produce boys and we always wondered if we would break the cycle. As you can see, we did!
She is an answered prayer.
This pregnancy has been the hardest; physically, emotionally, financially, and spiritually. And after consideration, we agreed that if we were having a girl, we will complete our family. (Until we adopt a pet dog in the future lol). So I literally prayed every day that God would honor our desire and when I got the phone call of the results, my heart jumped for joy and I praised God for answering my prayers.
We have a few more months to go and I am counting down the weeks until I see her face. I told myself I would share my pregnancy journey more this time, especially to bring awareness of HG. I want to encourage other mommas dealing with tough pregnancies to keep pressing forth, the struggle will end with a beautiful blessing in your arms.
