Being a mom, you get “no days off”. Literally. I woke up one day this week, feeling sick from a cold and the first thing I wanted to do was stay in bed and sleep it off. But — with a kid, a newborn at that, it’s impossible.
BM (before motherhood lol), I was able to do just that; sleep it off, lay in my sickness and be the victim having people take care of me (lol). Now, I’m the one that has to do all the taking care of. So I had to get up and make myself feel better, so that I could feed and care for the little one who was also under the weather.
It was then I realized that my life has truly changed forever [of course for the better]. Now, there’s another human I am responsible for and have to put first EVEN when I am feeling under the weather. Honestly, I have no real complaints what so ever; it just hit me that I can no longer “be the baby” because now I have a baby lol. I’m new to motherhood. I’m adjusting and learning with each new experience. I love it, and I am looking forward to when the roles switch and he has to care for mommy and daddy when we’re older lol.
So cheers to having no days off in mommyland!
It has to be the best job ever 🙂
