Dear Self 10/8/14 “It’s Time to Get Dirty to Come Out Clean”

Today’s Memo 10/8/14

dear selfIn order to grow sometimes you have to get dirty, digging deep to the root of certain negative behaviors and mindsets that are producing bad fruit. The devil wants to keep you stuck in your bad habits, masking the real issues and he will do all he can to make you live a repetitive life full of the same mistakes. God on the other hand, wants you to rise above it. He will take you on a journey with temporary pain to face your truth head on so you can break the negative habits and mindsets from the root. You will come out stronger, wiser, and lighter with no negative baggage rotting inside. Trust God and trust the process. It’s time to get dirty so you can come out clean!

What’s the underlying issue that’s causing you to think the way you do and act the way you act. From being rebellious to life in general, saying that you will never trust anyone again, declaring all men are dogs, and all women are gold diggers, to believing you are worthless, you don’t deserve to live above mediocrity, to behaving in a way that hurts everyone around you and using your past abuse as an excuse to abuse others. It’s time to break the lies, cycles, and habits you have trained yourself to live in. God can restore and heal you, but you have to be willing to allow Him to open that dirty closet filled with all the pain, secrets, hurts, and lies that you stored away thinking they would go away but really have been rotting and killing you inside. Don’t let satan keep you hostage, resist him, and trust God as He works.

“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings. And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen.” (1 Peter 5:8-11)
