Going into a new season can be fun yet scary due to the unknown of what’s next. You get so excited for God finally bringing you out of what seemed to be the longest, driest, season of your life. You start thanking God and being happy that you didn’t give up! Then all of a sudden you hit a challenge, or something isn’t going as you planned, or maybe you are just being stretched to get out of your comfort zone so you begin to draw back and drive yourself crazy by questioning every single thing!
You start questioning God, His “blessings” and His timing. “God is this really from You? This seems too good to be true, maybe I was tricked by the enemy again”, “I thought things would get easier”. You start questioning yourself, your faith, and if you really have what it takes. “Why am I letting my guard down again, maybe I didn’t hear correctly from God, maybe this isn’t my time yet again”. You start questioning the people around you and their true motives and intentions. “I don’t know if I can trust this person, I mean they haven’t done anything to make me not trust them, why are they being so nice to me, where did they come from, who sent them, and how do I know if they aren’t like the people from my past”. You even start to question if God really said its time to step into this new journey. Well, if you were not aware, let me inform you that you will be tested!
This is all apart of a process, that is preparing you for what God has next. You have new things to learn. There is more about yourself you need to learn and there is still stuff inside you that still need God’s healing and transforming power. Your faith will be tested, (Do you really believe that God will do and give you what He told you). Your motives will be tested, (Why are you worshiping God? Just to receive something in return?). Your commitment to trusting God throughout it all will be tested.

When you start feeling uncomfortable or like you have no control over things, those insecurities you surrendered to God start to seep back up and you begin to think the worst instead of trusting that what God has for you, is FOR YOU. There is no setback or challenge that can take that away. Just be patient and allow yourself to experience this new season with contentment and hope. Contentment in being satisfied with God alone and hope that everything will fall into place as it should.
Whatever you do, do not give up! Trust that God knows what’s best and will not lead you onto something aimlessly. People and things come into your life for a reason, and you will know that it is all apart of God’s plan because at the end of the day you will have that inner peace that everything will be alright if you cast down those negative assumptions and insecurities.
You have outgrown your last season, but don’t forget what you have learned from it. God has matured you for a time such as this! Don’t let your insecurities, anxious thoughts, fears, old controlling habits, and uncertainty cause you to lose out on something God has beautifully made just for you! None of those temporary feelings are from God anyway. They are all from the enemy trying to keep you stuck, even if that enemy is yourself!
So, trust in The Lord with your ENTIRE HEART[wc_fa icon=”heart” margin_left=”” margin_right=””][/wc_fa], and lean not on your own understanding! It is definitely going to be a process, but in this new season, whether it’s a new spiritual experience, new career or job journey, new relationship, new marriage, new ministry, new dream, new location, whatever it is, trust God and be led by His Spirit!
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV
