We have to keep our minds on God and rest on His promises. Living in a “want it now” world, it can be hard to wait on God to come through with what He promised you. But today, I want to encourage you to not give up on God. Your waiting on God is a blessing in disguise. While you are waiting, God is slowly changing your perspective. Soon you will realize that what you want now, what He promised you, can’t be given to you right now. Maybe He has more pruning and maturing to do in your life. Remember that God is not a liar and if He said He was going to move in your life, believe Him.
Most of the time as we are waiting on God, we start to take our eyes off Him and place them on our surroundings. We start seeing everyone around us get blessed, with what we are desiring! We then begin to catch ourselves comparing and measuring blessings with others and halt our process with our anxiety. We may even get fed up with waiting and take things into our own hands, going ahead of God. When we see others who are not believers getting “blessed”, we begin to feel entitled as if we worked hard as Christians to obtain the blessings from God right now.
If I can be honest, I was that person before. I would always wonder how “so and so” could have what I though I deserved, and they aren’t even living right. When I started to look at others and compare and judge, God stopped me all the way in my tracks. God asked me:
- Why am I comparing myself to others?
- Who am I to judge another’s walk with Him?
- Did He not tell me that He was going to bless me with my desires, where did my faith go so quickly. God had to remind me that I told Him I was going to rest on His promises so why was I going back on my word?
I was like, “wow, okay God, Did you have to get all in my stuff like that, goodness (lol). However He was right! Why am I comparing my life to someone else? I should be fixing my mind on the Lord and focusing on what the Lord said He was going to do for me. Whether it takes days, weeks, months or years, it doesn’t matter. If God said He is going to do it, then He is going to do it. God is not a liar, so I just have to be steadfast. I have to continue to seek and worship God with the nothing that I have because I know that everything that I need is found in Him. I also know I will obtain everything I need through Him by continuing to keep Him first.

In Matthew 6:33 it says to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be given to you as well. If God can provide for the little birdies and the wildlife, what on earth makes you think He cannot provide for you? You are precious to Him. You are dear to His heart, so what makes you think He will not provide what you need? I know what it is, lack of faith. You are focusing on this world, and what the world has been giving you instead of focusing on what God can give you. What God gives you is everlasting, what this world gives you is temporary. We have to make sure we are being Spirit-led and not emotion-led because our emotions will have us all caught up on what we don’t have, but we must focus on God and seek His Kingdom.
When we seek God, He will provide. When we delight ourselves in The Lord, He will give us the desires of our hearts. Now it may not be when we want it because we always want things right now. God will only give us what we are supposed to have at His appointed time. We have to trust and believe that we are going to receive all that God has for us. So stop worrying about what you don’t have and be grateful and thankful for what you do have:
- Eye sight because you are reading this
- Hearing, movable fingers and toes
- You can eat, and sleep in a home
- You may not have a car but you have transportation to go to work.
- You may not have the best job but the job you have is helping you pay your bills.
- You have family, friends, a child, a spouse.

You have things that you are overlooking and taking for granted because you are focusing on the wrong things but that’s a distraction from the enemy. We need to get it together. I had to tell myself this today. I need to get it together and stop worrying about the wrong things because that’s what the enemy wants us to do so we won’t be focused on doing what God wants us to do. So instead of wasting the day away calling your mom, friends, or whoever to complain, why not take it to God instead. God will convict you and tell you what you need to do which is let it go. Surrender it to Him and believe what He said He was going to do.
Stop complaining and comparing your life to others. God has promises with your name on it but will you be patient enough to receive them? If God promised you a job, believe Him. If He promised you spiritual wisdom, believe Him. If He promised you healing, believe Him. If He promised you a godly spouse, believe Him. If He promised a restored friendship/relationship/marriage, believe Him. If God promised you that your ministry will take off very soon, believe Him. If He promised to bless your business, believe Him. Believe Him and then wait on Him with and expectancy!
Don’t let lack of faith due to impatience tempt you create your own version of God’s promises and slap His name behind it. It will delay what He has for you.
It will be hard at times and you will be tempted to want to throw in the towel but today I want to encourage you to wait on The Lord as He renews your strength for what He has for you.
