One morning as I was sitting at my computer, I couldn’t help but get distracted from what I was doing, when one of my favorite songs came on.
“Faithful You are, faithful forever You will be, faithful You are. All of Your promises are Yes and Amen”.
Anyone know that song? There are so many different versions out, my favorite versions are by pretty much by any Bethel artist.
That song has been in my spirit for a while and it doesn’t help that its speak to me concerning the season I’m in right now. Now the words really have been digging into my soul.
We always hear that when it comes to our prayers to God we will not always receive a “Yes“. However I want to talk about the actual promises from God, and His promises go deeper and beyond our prayers to Him.
When I hear this song, I’m believing that everything that God says to US is true. Every promise He made and gave to those who BELIEVE and are just waiting, are theirs to hold on to.
It’s not the promise of earthly concerns and possessions in the result of giving your life to Christ . Such as: a spouse, increased finances, a big house or car, success, fame, etc.
It’s not the promises of this world or what we believe we deserve if we trust in God or step out on faith. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not wrong to give your desires to The Lord, and wait in expectancy, but I believe when this song ministers to my soul it is speaking of the things God has already written.
It is the promise that he who confess and believes in Jesus Christ shall be saved and not see death.
(“if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9)
It is the promise that all those who labor and are weary, can find rest in Him.
(“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am [a]gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Matthew 11:28-29)
It is the promise that when we put God first and seek Him, He will provide for our needs.
(“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you”. Matthew 6:33)
It is the promise that we are children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
(“But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.” Galatians 3:22)
It is the promise that when we separate ourselves from this world and follow His ways, He will be a Father to us, making us His sons and daughters when we choose Him as our God.
(“Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you. I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.” 2 Corinthians 6:17-18)
It is the promise of those who truly wait upon the Lord, their strength will be renewed.
(“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31)
It is the promise of His faithfulness that He will never leave nor forsake us even in our toughest and darkest hours.
(“Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6
It is the promise that His grace is sufficient in our weaknesses; so we shouldn’t allow anything to keep us from doing what He’s instructed us to do.
(”And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9)
It is the promise that there is no temptation that is not common and cannot be resisted. God will not allow you to be tempted above your means and WILL PROVIDE A WAY OUT OF EVERY TEMPTATION. There is an escape plan. (THANK YOU JESUS!)
(“No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.” 1 Corinthians 10:13)
These are just a few of the many promises that God has spoken that are a Yes and an Amen, and that will never be void. God is not a man who should lie nor the son of man who should repent. No Word shall come back void. His promises are for you, IF you take a hold of them and receive them in faith.
You have to live as if you believe what He says to be true.
Faith without works is dead.
You have to believe that just as you believe these promises to be true, you must also believe that denying Jesus, walking in disobedience, choosing your own way, and falling into every temptation will cost you to miss out on the beautiful promises of God.
God says He will turn His face away from those who purposely turn their hearts from Him.
His promises are for those who believe and want to live for Him and He is always there for those who want to get to know Him.
So rest your weary soul, give Him your broken heart, remember your identity is found in who you belong to.
His promise still stands and all of His promises are Yes and Amen.
