My name is Brittany L. Fitzgerald. You can call me Brittany or Britt!
I am a follower of Jesus Christ, a wife, and a mom. I love to write and I love to create.
Purpose behind the blog
In this life, we all have a purpose, things don’t just happen to us, it is all for a reason. There are lessons learned everywhere. Some lessons are to be used to teach someone else who may not be as strong as we are to learn from certain situations. I myself, have been led to share a piece of myself through my words with my experiences. I believe God has given me the power to change someone’s life, perspective, or mood in a way that encourages them to press forward to Christ.
I created Building a Beautiful Soul, because as the name states, I am working on creating a beautiful soul within myself. The title came from the idea of God turning my ashes into beauty (Isaiah 61:3), and by doing so I realized that true beauty starts from within. It’s a mindset renewal, and purification process of our hearts, and full transformation of embracing the newness The Lord has to offer when we surrender our lives to Him
I want to help women, like myself, who have been through so much that caused their soul to become damaged, insecure, tainted, and impure. I want to show women that they are beautiful daughters of a King and that it is okay to strive for holiness in a world full of sin.
My purpose is to help encourage women to know that their worth comes from Christ and their beauty comes from within.
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 “Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
Quick facts about myself:
I am what people would call an introvert. I can be quiet at times, but I promise I am not stuck up or “not wanting to be bothered”. I actually like to talk, it’s just I really am not good at small talk. I will laugh, smile, and “yeah” my way out the door because I am not good at starting conversations lol. It has caused me to be misunderstood most of my life.
I was born in Virginia, and raised in Maryland, and then eventually ended back here in Virginia. So I guess you can say I am a Virginian.
My husband and I have known each other for almost eleven years [dating on and off] before we got married. Before we started dating we actually disliked each other in high school lol. Who would have thought we would be here. I can truly say that I married my best friend! But boy oh boy do we have a testimony to share! A year after marriage we welcomed a beautiful healthy baby boy named Liam.
I have a passion for the simple things in life and absorbing God’s creation.
Some people may know me from my first blog, Vella Sol Styles, which was a fashion blog I had. Or from my poetry blog, LoveBLavella. I eventually had to put them down because I was glorifying myself and The Lord was calling me here; a place to glorify Him.
I thank God because due to my obedience, He has used B.A.B.S. to open doors and bless me with opportunities to be featured on two Christian websites, to present and speak at an international COGIC AIM Convention, share my blog posts on an online radio station, and touch souls all over, all for His glory.
I’m a business graduate, and outside of my 9-5 job, I am working to be a freelance web designer and content creator. So, if you need a website created or some content written up, feel free to contact me! My goal is to become a full time work from home mom.
I’m a techy gal and love all things techy.
On my journey I have attended a few churches which means I’ve experienced many denominations: baptist, eastern orthodox, apostolic, church of God in Christ, and my current home full gospel. Each has taught me different aspects of CHURCH.
When I’m not at work or at church, I like to listen to podcasts, read, watch YouTube videos, find new worship music, learn, go thrifting (I LOVE all things vintage), buy journals, and just enjoy nature.
